Wound Care

Our physical therapists are trained to see all varieties of wounds. Some types of wounds that are commonly treated include diabetic ulcers, burns, pressure ulcers, and slowly healing surgical wounds. The physical therapists are trained in wound assessment, debridement techniques, hydrotherapy, selection and application of appropriate dressings and patient/family education.

The patient's progress is closely monitored at each treatment session, and, if needed, the wound care is modified. To ensure the proper and successful healing of all wounds, a close working relationship is maintained between the patient, physical therapist, and referring physician
